Position Summary
The Primary Instructor will join the front lines of a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced Instruction team. This role offers the opportunity for a self-motivated Instructor to play a pivotal role in the lives of our clients who have become discouraged in their job search.
This position includes duties as classroom instructor (virtual or in-person), providing faith-based training, an active contributor to equipping, and the overall growth of anyone who desires long-term employment. The Primary Instructor will perform all other day-to-day duties as assigned by the Manager of Instruction.
Responsibilities
Programs
- In-Class Monitoring Support for Hybrid classes
- Create J.S.A. Modular Instruction Assignments
- Teach assigned courses as instructed in a manner that facilitates the achievement of specific objectives for each Virtual Bootcamp segment and each WorkFaith Academy course
- Administer Exit Survey after each WorkFaith Academy course
- Admitting Contract Instructors for WorkFaith Academy to the platform
- Maintain the content and structure of the curriculum provided throughout each presentation
- Recording Attendance from Swoogo
- Updating Program Spreadsheet – J.S.A. and Academy Attendance
- Log Academy Attendance in NetSuite
- Create and update J.S.A. attendance roster
- Facilitation of the Practice Interview Sessions for J.S.A. on Day 4 with Volunteers
- Assist clients on Day 5 to move from J.S.A. platform to Graduation platform
- Creating Academy Classes in both NetSuite and Swoogo
- Creating Registration for Academy Classes on WorkFaith website
- Help clients trouble-shoot general technical issues on J.S.A. platform
- Assist management in providing for the proper security, care, and use of WorkFaith programs and equipment
Administration
- Review Attendance Roster on Day 4 for Commencement
- Contact Participants who missed days to verify information and explain commencement requirements. Schedule them for make-up days
- Present classes in absence of other Instructors and maintain course caseload
- Sending Introductory Email to new Application Advisors
- Sending Application Assignments to Application Advisors
- Maintain Application Advisor Log
- Monitor classquestions@workfaith.org to respond to general questions from participants
- Report to management any questionable exchanges between participants and instructors
- Sending client’s Application Feedback forms to them
- Acknowledging client’s applications and informing them of feedback process and timeframe
- Sending Emails to Instruction Manager to review new Application Advisors feedback to client and provide feedback to them in order to solidify training
- Advise management of planned time off and upcoming scheduling conflicts at least 2 weeks or a month in advance
- Assist management in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, volunteers, and guest, whether online or in-person, relating to the instructor's assignment
Competencies
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in instruction, training, counseling, or related social services fields strongly preferred
- College degree preferred (experience may be substituted for education)
- Proficient in active listening, written communication, public speaking, and building trust
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook with an intermediate level of Information Systems experience, preferred
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with graduates of diverse generations, personalities, and backgrounds
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding students, staff, volunteers, and personal guest information shared
- Maintain a professional disposition in interactions with WorkFaith participants and staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment efficiently and effectively in high-pressure situations
- Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and handle competing priorities in a pleasant manner
- Commit to keeping scheduled assignments
- Maintain an understanding and adhere to any implemented changes in the subject area of the assignment
- Commit to variable work conditions depending on assignment
- Professional in conduct and behavior
- Provide leadership with course attendance for each WorkFaith Academy class
- Must be a forward thinker
- A Positive, can-do attitude and team player
- Must be solution-oriented and proactive in identifying/resolving issues
- Must be highly resourceful and able to work independently with little to no direction
