Unit Description
This company is seeking a Food Service Manager to assist with managing food and nutrition programs at the International Leadership of Texas located in the Greater Houston/ College Station Area. International Leadership of Texas has 20,000 students in over 12 counties and three cities: Dallas/FW metroplex, Houston area, and College Station. The charter school has 31 schools and over 20 campuses. The district offers Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and CACFP at Risk programs, along with Summer Food Service Program for the school year and in the summer months. The position will support campuses that are located in Houston, College Station, and other areas as the Charter grows
. Valid Driver’s License Required
The successful candidate will:
- have oversight of day-to-day operations;
- deliver high quality food service;
- provide employee training and development;
- develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
- have the ability and willingness to motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly paid staff).
- oversee ordering and inventory controls;
- menu development;
- assist with catering functions;
- oversee safety program;
- equipment purchasing; and
- ensure this company’s and National School Lunch (NSLP)/USDA standards are met.
- have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
- previous experience in a K-12 environment is preferred;
- have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
- can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
- prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Position Summary
Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of this company’s programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Duties:
- Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment
- Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
- Utilizes this company’s resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
