JOB SUMMARY:
This company is seeking a full time Registered Dietitian to come join their dynamic & diverse team to provide outpatient medical-surgical oncology nutrition care at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center - McNair Campus, located in Houston, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful candidate will: Be a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience with oncology patient population, board certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) preferred or be willing to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
- Provide nutritional care to oncology outpatients before, during and after cancer therapies, including medical oncology, surgery, and radiation oncology.
- Work on various patient population floors with various disease states.
- Conduct assessments, perform nutrition-focused physical exams, provide nutrition support recommendations and diet education as needed.
- Be an active member of the interdisciplinary team, participating in daily chart rounds and Cancer Center activities

Key Duties:
- Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
- Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
- Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to this company standards and policy.
- Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate this company resource when necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as this company client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., -HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
- Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments.
Qualifications & Requirements Basic Education Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree Basic Functional Experience
- 3 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
